Lisette Bustamante

Lisette Bustamante is always a favorite here at “Rap It Up” hip hop workshop!!!  Mix a little hip hop, jazz, and salsa with the drama of musical theatre and you will have a glimpse of what to expect when experiencing the choreography of Lisette Bustamante, one of Los Angeles ’s most sought after dancers-turned-choreographers.  She has a unique ability to conceptualize and create moves that transcend the barriers of today’s generic video choreography.  She has performed with such artists as Aaliyah, P. Diddy, Jennifer Lopez, Usher, Will Smith, Enrique Inglesias, Mya, Brandy and Santana.  She has been on the MTV Video Music Awards performing with Madonna, Janet Jackson, Backstreet Boys, and Justin Timberlake.  You can also catch Lisette as one of the judges on the new Dance Fever on ABC Family.  You’re going to LOVE  Lisette’s classes!!!

Chonique
Sneed

Chonique Sneed began her entertainment career at the young age of 8. A Los Angeles Native, born smack in the center of Hollywood, she was destined to entertain with a natural passion for performing. Beginning her career as a child actress, she worked on commercials, kid variety specials, and television shows in her early years.   Always having a natural ability and interest in dance, she went on to dance in movies, world tours, and countless music videos; working with artists such as:  Missy Elliott, Eve, Gwen Stefani, PDiddy, and Janet Jackson, to name a few.  Chonique also shines in the choreography and Artistic side of things.  Chonique has choreographed for artists such as Christina Milian, Britney Spears, Pink, Jennifer Lopez, etc….  Always a writer and artist at heart, Chonique has collaborated with up-n-coming producer “K.O.”, who together have developed her sound and passion as a hip-hop artist. They have created a sound that is unique to her own, expressing her animated personality and exposing her trials and triumphs growing up in the entertainment industry. With Chonique, be prepared for an In-Your-Face personality; bold, yet witty and fun!

Todd
Flanagan

Todd Flanagan knew from an early age that the small town of Genoa, Arkansas couldn’t accommodate his big dreams.   After high school he attended college at Southern Arkansas University where he studied the art of Theatre.  While in school he received many awards for his work on the stage.  His most prestigious was his Irene Ryan Nomination and Directors Choice Award for his role as Hally in the production “MASTER HAROLD”…and the boys in a state-wide competition.  Before making his move to LA, he had the opportunity of working alongside Denzel Washington in the film “The Great Debaters”, where he was featured as an Oklahoma Debater.  Since his move in 2007, Millennium Dance Complex has opened new doors for him to explore the art of dance and teaching.  While in LA, Todd has filmed the pilot for ABC’s Dance Machine, and performed alongside and for many famous Choreographers such as:  Michael Jackson’s dancer/choreographer Lavelle Smith, Chonique Sneed & Lisette Bustamante, Phlex, Shane Sparks, and Carey and Paulette of Carnival Choreographer’s Ball.  He just recently co-choreographed a video for the famous Korean girl group “Girls Generation” with the guidance of the talented Lisette Bustamante.  Recently, he just returned from Africa on a 10 day tour with Jermaine Jackson. He is signed as a choreographer with MSA agency and is on staff at IDA Hollywood and Millennium Dance Complex.

Lindsey
Blaufarb

 

Lindsey is a hip hop favorite and you may have seen her take things to a new level as she performed on TV’s “America’s Best Dance Crew” season 3 with The BEAT FREAKS!!  Lindsey is also a member of the re-known GROOVALOOS featured on So You Think Can Dance.  Lindsey has so much talent and is a very innovative choreographer with her unique style and moves.  She lives in LA and continues to dance with numerous artists.  Some of her Credits are: Lady Ga Ga, Pink, Missy Elliot, Avril Lavigne, LL cool J, I-Pod, You Got Served, The Veronicas, Blondie, Black Eyed Peas, Mariah Carey, Omarion, Lil MaMa, Miley Cyrus, Beat Freaks abdc 3, Groovaloos, Jurassic 5 and many more…..

GEV
Manoukian

 

Gev is of Armenian descent.  He was born and raised in Kazakhstan. In his senior year of school, Gev formed the first break-dancing group in his hometown. Together, they learned their moves by watching videos and through trial and error.  In 2003 Gev moved to Salt Lake City, UT.  He soon found a local break-dancing/hip-hop group and joined the ranks, picking up where her left off in his hometown.  The group, “Extreme Dance Studio”, introduced him to the world of hip-hop. With his natural ability to pick up new dance movements, and his zeal to dance, the new genera took flight; brining him to a new level in dancing.  As he continued developing his dancing abilities, he soon discovered a new transition in his dancing…the combination of break-dance, hip-hop, and classical movements all rolled into one.  Gev engages audiences with his self-taught moves and passion. In 2004 Gev auditioned for the Hollywood block buster, High School Musical 2, and was chosen as a featured dancer.  Two years later, he was cast as a principal dancer in movie, “The American Mall”. In 2008 Gev’s dancing talents took him to the nationwide auditions of the Fox reality, hit, TV show, “So You Think You Can Dance”.  Gev’s unique, versatile, and powerful dancing abilities, won over the judges and America, as he danced his way to the top 10 dancers.

  • Well known award winning choreographer and dance instructor.
  • 20+ yrs. Training and professional experience in all styles of dance from all across the nation working with the very best in the industry!!
  • Dance scholarship recipient to Brigham Young University where she was a member of the acclaimed “Cougarette” Dance Team for 2 yrs.  and a BYU cheerleader/songleader  – 3yrs.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Dance Education with a minor is Health & Fitness from BYU.
  • 10 yrs. High School Dance Teacher/Educator/Coach – served as the Dance Department Chair, Dance Company Director, and Drill Team Coach.
  • Choreographer for the “Stadium of Fire” show,  the “Miss Rodeo America” Pageant, the 2002 Winter Olympic Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies in SLC, Commercial Advertisement  choreography, Bowl game halftimes shows, and many National Championship Dance/Drill Team, Studio, and Solo competition routines.

  • Dance Captain of the BYU “Cougarettes” for 2 years.

  • Dance teacher as well as choreographer throughout Utah, Idaho, and Washington – 15 yrs.

Shannon
Vance

Shannon Vance – Instructor 

  • MFA in Modern Dance from the University of Utah
  • Guest choreographer for Nicholas Leichter’s “Free the Angels” featured in the Uof U’s Performing Dance Co. spring showcase.
  • Graduate Utah Teaching Assistant under the UofU dance department for the 2009-2010 academic school year.
  • Dance Teacher for Salt Lake Community College.
  • Director and Teacher for the Mountain View High dance program teaching modern, ballroom, aerobics, and directing the HS dance company.  While at Mountain View two of her works, “How Many Does it Take to Tango” and “Protecting Ophelia” received top honors at the 2006 Utah Shakespeare Festival.
  • Choreographer for musicals such as Little Mary Sunshine, Beauty and the Beast, and Les Miserables.
  • B.A. in Dance Education from BYU where she toured with the Ballroom Dance Company and was a member of BYU’s Dancensemble.

  • Scholarship recipient to train at the ‘Performing Arts Center’ in Los Angeles where she had intensive training in Jazz, Ballet, Modern, Tap, Hip- Hop, Broadway, Acting and Voice – including special training with teachers such as Joseph Malone, Marguerite Derricks, Mia Michaels, Wade Robson, etc….  She also trained at the Edge Performing Arts Center and Millennium Studios while in L.A.

  • Member of the nationally acclaimed Golden Girls at University of Missouri in Columbia.
  • Bachelors degree in Child/Family Studies and Dance from the University of Missouri.
  • Trained in L.A., Missouri, and Utah.

Natalie Bills
Francis

Natalie Bills Francis – Instructor  

  • 20 yrs. Dance training – born and raised in the dance studio – Hot Shots Dance Studio in Pleasant Grove, UT.
  • Teacher since the age of 15yrs. old specializing in jazz, lyrical, ballet, tap, hip-hop, and tumbling.
  • Winner of the “Utah Performer of the Year” award in 2001.
  • Recipient of multiple scholarships from NYCDA, Dance Utah, LA Dance Magic, Odyssey, Austin Ballet, and Dance Fever Utah.
  • Member of the Orchesis Dance Co. at Pleasant Grove High School where she choreographed multiple routines and served as president during her senior year.
  • Member of the UVSC Dance Team for 1 year.
  • 3 yr. member of Rick Robinson’s Origins/Vibe professional company where she performed in the Bart Rockett Variety show in Branson Missouri.

Autumn Hernandez

Autumn Hernandez Roberts – Instructor 

  • Nationally-recognized teacher . She has taught for several pre-professional studios in Utah.
  • Current Owner/Director/Choreographer for the performance company, “Underground Dance Company”.
  • Award winning choreographer – numerous first place titles, choreography awards, specialty awards, and overall titles at prestigious national competitions such as Spotlight Dance Cup, Jump, Odyssey Competition, Hollywood Connection, and more. Her soloists place nationally and locally, and she is well-known in the dance community for her edgy style.
  • Trained in all styles and areas of dance with emphasis on “edgy jazz”, contemporary jazz, lyrical, and hip hop.
