All public attending Dance America competitions are required to pay an entrace fee before entering the competition. Competitors do not have to pay entrance fees, but must show costume(s) at door for entrance.
Ticket prices for SPRING FLING, DIXIE JAM STAGE, NATIONALS, and GEM STATE competitions:
Adults – $7.00
Youth – $5.00 (ages 5-18)
Senior Citizen – $4.00 (60+ yrs.)
Children 4 and under are Free
Ticket prices for the DIXIE JAM GYMNASIUM competition:
Adults – $8.00
Youth – $6.00 (ages 5-18)
Senior Citizen – $5.00 (60+ yrs.)
Children 4 and under are Free
(Dixie Jam Gymnasium Competition is held at Dixie College – prices are $1.00 more due to the overhead costs charged by the college facility).
*** NOTE – We have often been asked the question, “Why don’t we just charge a bigger entry fee to the competitor and then charge nothing at the door like some other competitions do?” Dance America has investigated this option, but has discovered that other competitions charge as much as $25-$35 per competitor/per routine! By doing this, the competitor actually ends up paying outrageous fees to enter the competitions, which makes it really hard on the participant as well as the studio directors trying to collect these exceptionally high fees. Dance America has always tried to keep our fees and ticket prices fair to both the competitor AND the public. We have a great deal of costs that are incurred to run an event of this magnitude, but our goal is to provide a professional, positive, and fun experience/opportunity for everyone at the most affordable and reasonable cost possible. We want every participant to have the opportunity to showcase their hard work and talent. It actually saves the participant and those who come to support the participant money to do it the way we do it. It ends up being much more fair and cost effective to keep our entry fees down and charge at the door versus over-charging the participant with outrageous entry fees that he/she will never be able to afford.
